The iPhone's MagSafe technology (a magnetic feature that allows wireless charging, snap-shut attachment to wallets, and more) has been a defining feature of the smartphone since its 2020 arrival. This groundbreaking feature has brought us an ecosystem of accessories, including chargers, wallets, and protective cases, taking the iconic gadget's convenience to a new level.
Every Apple smartphone that hit the shelves after the iPhone 12 has MagSafe on board — and it's a feature you should use if you own an iPhone 13, iPhone 14, or their higher-end iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro siblings. Because most of us can't leave home without our phone and wallet, there's no better way to take advantage of this technology than with one of the best MagSafe wallets on the market.
The handy accessories mentioned above use integrated magnets to attach to your iPhone with or without a compatible case. To determine which MagSafe wallets are worth snapping onto your phone, we tested products from leading makers like Apple, Casetify, OtterBox, and Spigen, to name a few.

Even the best MagSafe wallet out there cannot fully replace your old wallet — that's the most important thing you should know before buying one. Most, including the popular , can accommodate two or three cards and a bill (or two). If you want to keep more cards alongside your iPhone, consider a wallet case with a bigger storage capacity like the Peak Design mobile wallet.
Additional features, such as an integrated viewing stand, are worth keeping an eye out for, depending on your needs. So are the products' design and build materials. Spending more on a MagSafe wallet will get you a fancier product with finer materials and more attention to detail.
MagSafe accessories became inseparable parts of my daily routine in late 2020 when the ecosystem of magnetic iPhone accessories had just begun to develop. MagSafe wallets quickly became my favorites, allowing me to leave my other wallet behind and streamline my everyday carry setup.
Relying mostly on Apple Pay while shopping in person and commuting allowed us to reduce the number of cards we carry significantly. Still, we always leave home with an ID, a payment card, and a card to enter the office.
For this guide, we handpicked MagSafe wallets in various form factors that left us with good impressions over the past couple of years. Every entry on this list has been attached to our iPhone daily for weeks or months, giving us plenty of time and usage scenarios to evaluate its design, durability, and ergonomics. For some of the entries, we tested the claimed max card capacity to determine how well they work in real-world scenarios.
We also wanted to know if the strength of the bond between the iPhone and wallets varied. For an array of the MagSafe wallets we tested, we set up a test that involved attaching empty wallets to a MagSafe-ready iPhone. Around the wallets, we tied a thin length of fishing line, which still allowed for full contact between the case and the back of the phone, and attached a bag on the end. We dropped quarters into a bag and counted how much it took to break the bond between the phone and the wallet. We also measured the wallets and paid attention to how much bulk they added to an iPhone.
We can personally vouch for every wallet on this list. Whether you're looking to treat an iPhone user to an unforgettable gift or upgrade your own EDC gear, find the best MagSafe wallet among these extensively scrutinized products.

Can be bulkier than other wallets when full
Magnet is not the strongest when attached directly to the phoneThis stunner is undoubtedly the best MagSafe wallet around.
Aesthetically, the Peak Design wallet, which comes in five colors, stands apart from the rest with a woven, canvas look to it, though the surface of the case is very smooth. While we were not able to stuff it with the seven cards the manufacturer claims, we fit six. But it was the ease of retrieval that made this MagSafe wallet a joy to use — just push your cards in and they rest on a nylon band. When you need to fetch something, simply flip open the tab, yank it up, and all the cards pop up as you pull so, at a glance, you can shuffle through the cards. The wallet’s lid has a magnet in it, too, which means it basically auto-closes itself each time.
At just over 40 grams, the Peak Design was the lightest wallet we tested despite having the largest capacity. While it will carry six cards, the nylon won't stretch, so you can carry less without the material’s memory, making the wallet feel bulkier.
The only knock against this wallet is that it had the weakest magnetic connection to the phone, so if you drop the phone, the case might fly off, though it’s unlikely the contents of your wallet will spill out.
Peak Design offers two distinct versions of the product — a slim and a stand wallet. The version with an integrated stand is worth the extra $10 because it can reliably hold the iPhone in portrait and landscape mode. -Reviewed by Sal Vaglica

Affordable
Slim yet versatile
Excellent viewing standCons
Lacks RFID protectionThis MagSafe wallet by MOFT is the best for upgrading on the cheap. The wallet’s metal hinge, which you need to flip open to access your cards, is stiff enough to hold the phone at nearly any angle from 110 to 180 degrees, depending on the model. This is a nice feature for those who keep their iPhones at the ready on a desk where you can easily unlock it with facial recognition, or if you work near windows and have to adjust the phone throughout the day to deal with glare.
During daily use, this was the best MagSafe wallet in terms of comfort that we tested. The vegan leather doesn’t add any texture that might grip the inside of our pockets and the thin profile barely adds any bulk. At 75 grams, the MOFT was the heaviest of the wallets we tested, but it’s not noticeably so. The two cards are fully protected in the case and you can make payments with Apple Pay even with the wallet in place.
The downside here is minimal card carry and, at least until the leather stretches a bit, it can take some effort to open the wallet, use your thumb to push the cards up, and then yank out the one you need. It’s also difficult to imagine accessing a folded-up bill from the MOFT. -Reviewed by Sal Vaglica

Doesn't fully enclose your cards
PriceyThe Rokform Fuzion is the best MagSafe wallet to get if you are constantly fretting about accidentally separating your MagSafe cardholder from your iPhone (e.g., during concerts, festivals, sporting events, etc.). Promptly dubbed Magmax, its onboard magnet kept it securely attached to my iPhone during several accidental drops.
Believe it or not, the Fuzion can establish a stronger link with . For science, I put the setup to the test, tossing a dummy iPhone with the case and the wallet down a long flight of stairs. To my surprise, the cardholder didn’t separate during this heavy tumble.
Crafted from aluminum with military-grade durability, the wallet also has a built-in folding kickstand that’s one of the best in its class. I only wish it fully enclosed my cards when I used it. -Reviewed by Stefan Vazharov

Could use more spaceThis beautiful MagSafe wallet made by Apple, the developer of the proprietary magnetic feature, is one of the best MagSafe wallets worth your attention. Available in several colors, the accessory is crafted from high-quality FineWoven material, so it's the nicest to interact with. It also packs powerful magnets, ensuring that it's always securely attached to your iPhone.
The wallet is compatible with Apple's Find My service, so you'll be able to track it if it's lost or stolen like an item with an AirTag. I felt better seeing the essential accessory every time I opened the Find My app on my iPhone. The product will also prompt your iPhone to notify you when it's detached. -Reviewed by Stefan Vazharov

5Integrated Folio Cover
Pros

Folio protects iPhone screen
Handy magnetic closureCons
Pairing it with a case will cost youAs its name suggests, the OtterBox Style Folio MagSafe wallet has a cover that will safeguard your iPhone’s screen. The product can attach to your iPhone with or without a MagSafe-compatible case. I can confirm that the folio was a perfect match for a case.
The wallet has several slots to keep your cards more organized than its rivals. While testing, I enjoyed being able to reach for the exact card I needed instead of sifting through them as I did on other MagSafe wallets.
A convenient magnetic latch and a lifetime warranty round up the product's key features. OtterBox also offers a MagSafe wallet without a screen cover. -Reviewed by Stefan Vazharov

Can be thicker than the phone and caseThis MagSafe wallet by Case-Mate combines the safety standards of a Pelican, a brand synonymous with uncompromising durability, for a great model. It's hands-down the most rugged option worth your attention. While the specs claim the wallet, which comes in three colors, carries three cards nestled within the right-hand side of the clamshell design, we were able to fit four. We like that the cards are easy to peel out of the case by digging your index finger in behind them, while the wide silicone band provides just enough stretch.
In a pinch, you can remove the silicone money band on the left and fit in a fifth card. During testing, we were able to fit four cards on the right, and either a large house key or three folded-up bills on the left. The Case-Mate’s magnet was the strongest of the wallets we tested, only failing once 30 ounces of weight was pulled on it.
While the Case-Mate’s clasp closes securely enough to prevent weather — rain, snow, and dust — from getting in, it’s not waterproof, so don’t expect money to emerge dry if you take it for a swim. At about 70 grams or about 13 quarters, the empty case is light but bulky. The Case-Mate’s nearly 1/2-inch thickness is more than that of an iPhone fitted with a case, so it essentially doubles the thickness of a phone. While it slides in and out of our pocket easily, it is noticeably chunkier than other cases. -Reviewed by Sal Vaglica

The under-$45 snap-on impressed me with a beautiful design, a genuine leather exterior with top-tier workmanship, and a versatile setup for accessing cards. You can remove your ID and payment cards from the wallet’s top, bottom, or back (when detached).

Limited card capacityThe Rugged Armor magnetic wallet by Spigen, like the brand’s phone cases from the same product family, has a utilitarian design with carbon fiber-like accents. In addition to reliable magnets, the accessory has integrated silicone pads to prevent it from detaching.
We only wish that the Rugged Armor wallet had a bigger capacity to store cards. However, its design and affordable price make it a solid option for those who prefer to carry only the most essential cards. -Reviewed by Stefan Vazharov
