As shopping writers and editors, we test a lot of products over a 12-month span, both at home and in our Southern Living lab. So Black Friday sales are a Super Bowl of sorts for us because it’s the only time of year that every retailer discounts its inventory, offering up—in some cases—thousands of dollars in savings. But no one else comes close to the amount of deals Amazon has to offer.
We asked our editors if their favorite products of 2024 made it into Amazon’s Black Friday deals, and we’re happy to report that many of them did. For Senior Editor Lily Gray, running this Nori Trim Fabric Shaver over her furniture and pilling clothing has become her “new favorite chore,” and the clever device is 25 percent off right now. And Editor Melanie Fincher’s go-to nonstick skillets from Anolon are marked down to $20 apiece. “The coating is super slick and it’s also on the outside of the pan, so cleanup is easy,” she says of the cookware.

$181 $131 at Amazon “This is one of my favorite pieces in my dining room, and I couldn’t recommend it more for the upcoming holiday hosting season. One of my favorite features is the removable serving trays—they make it so convenient to take your barware and festive cocktails from the cart to the table.” - Mia Ingui, Editor
$140 $90 at Amazon “I live in a small New York City apartment with a stuffy bathroom, so quick-drying towels are a must. These waffle bath sheets from Cozy Earth are large (which I love in a bath towel) and don’t shrink in the wash. I’ve owned these for nearly three years and the quality, appearance, and feel hasn’t changed one bit.” - Julia Fields, Associate Editor
$70 $40 at Amazon “Nonstick cookware is notorious for being short-lived, but I’ve been using these pans for four years now. They’re still the first nonstick skillets I reach for; the coating is super slick and it’s also on the outside of the pan, so cleanup is easy. The pans have yet to start chipping and they don’t scratch too easily—just try to avoid using metal utensils. Plus, they’re lightweight and easy to handle thanks to the cushioned handle.” - Melanie Fincher, Editor
$18 $13 at Amazon “I bought this fly trap after a friend recommended it and was shocked at how many bugs it trapped in my kitchen the first day. The sale price is so great I’m going to purchase a couple more for other spaces in my home, like near the front and back doors.” - Jenna Sims, Senior Digital Editor
$59 $45 at Amazon “I got this Nori fabric shaver a few weeks ago, and running it over my couch, arm chairs, and old sweaters has become my new favorite chore. It’s compatible with almost all fabrics, and I can see the difference after just one or two passes, truly making my tattered clothes look brand new. It’s also travel-friendly, so I can throw it in my carry-on before a wedding, work event, or vacation.” - Lily Gray, Senior Editor
$30 $21 at Amazon “This compact electric kettle has become one of my favorite kitchen appliances. It’s just the right size to boil water for one cup of tea, and it doesn’t take up too much space on my counter.” - Emma Phelps, Associate Editor
$30 $18 at Amazon “I adopted two kittens this year, and it didn’t take long for me to start missing (and worrying about) them every time I left home. These affordable security cameras let me check in from anywhere to ensure my apartment is secure—and that the cats aren’t getting into any trouble. Each camera took less than 10 minutes to set up, and the app is super simple and intuitive to use.” - Jessica Comstock, Associate Editor
$50 $20 at Amazon “I bought this cardigan last year and it’s still one of my favorites. Not only is it soft and lightweight, but it also keeps me warm when the temperature starts to drop. And whether I’m going to work or church, this cardigan pairs well with most of my outfits.” - Moriah Mason, Writer
$117 $60 at Amazon “I bought this gorgeous Dutch oven from Lodge recently and have seriously wowed myself by how much I can make in it. The 4.5-quart capacity allows me to make soups, stews, and even easy one-pot dinners. Plus, the porcelain enameled coating ensures that the most stubborn of foods doesn’t stick to the bottom, making cleanup a total breeze.” - Alicia Geigel, Writer
$35 $24 at Amazon “I never had a ‘proper’ bath mat because I always worried that it would be perpetually damp. But this memory foam one absorbs an incredible amount of water, so it’s never wet when I use it. Plus, it’s super soft on my feet and the non-slip latex bottom actually works—I never have to readjust the mat after stepping out of the shower.” - Allison Cacich, Editorial Director
$16 $14 at Amazon “I purchased these about a month ago and have used them every day since. They have a timer, which I currently have set to four hours, so they turn on at 5:30 p.m. and turn off at 9:30 p.m. I have them in a candelabra near my front door and it lights up the entryway quite well.” - Kaitlin Gates, Writer
$299 $240 at Amazon “I love bread, but re-toasting often leaves it dry and flaky. The Balmuda Toaster has a tiny tank for water—yes, water—that emits steam to add just enough moisture back into your toast, bagels, croissants, leftover pizza, and more for a fluffy and crispy bite. It won’t burn your baked goods during the re-heating, either, and I find that my bread really is perfectly warmed while retaining its original integrity. You can also use the temperature dial to bake cookies, heat up frozen meals, and make small casseroles or pasta.” - Euna Park, Editor
$20 $19 at Amazon “I’m slowly trying to swap out our household cleaners for more natural options. I’m down to my last few dishwashing detergent pods and am excited to try these next. I also love that I can opt-in to a subscription—one less thing on the grocery list!” - Betsy Cribb Watson, Senior Home & Features Editor
$7 $4 at Amazon “These claw clips are my secret to looking put together when I’m running out the door in the morning. They immediately add a cute element to any jeans-and-sweater outfit.” - Mary Shannon Hodes, Digital Editor
$100 $70 at Amazon “I purchased the Pura Smart device during Amazon’s last Prime Day as I was looking for a way to make my house smell amazing every time I walk in the front door. I love candles, but I can’t keep them burning all day while I’m at work. This diffuser lets me customize the schedule, so the device turns on about 30 minutes before I walk in the door after my commute home, and I can turn the scent up or down.” - Meg Lappe, Senior Editorial Director
$20 $18 at Amazon “This accent rug is so cute and affordable. I have it layered under my front doormat to accent my holiday rug. It adds a bit more visual interest to my entryway, and it’s neutral enough that I can pair it with different doormats for each season.” - Brandi Fuller, Editor
$70 $56 at Amazon “My friends and I play a lot of sports and several of them have this chair [for the sidelines]. Every time I sit in one, I think about getting my own because it’s super comfortable and easy to transport. I can’t wait to take it on camping trips, too.” - Tara Massouleh McCay, Senior Travel & Culture Editor
$160 $130 at Amazon “I'm a sucker for new tech and anything pink, so to no one's surprise, I just upgraded to the gorgeous Kindle Paperwhite in the raspberry hue. This little thing lives in my purse, and I'm always reading in the car, in waiting rooms, and during lunch breaks.” - Wendy Vazquez, Writer
$29 $24 at Amazon “My mom is always losing her key fob. With an Apple Airtag, she can keep an eye on where it is at all times and never has to worry about being locked out of her car. This is also an awesome option for keeping tabs on luggage and pets.” - Taylor Rock, Senior Editor
$33 $18 at Amazon “I’m a big fan of reading at night, but since my fiancé falls asleep earlier than I do, I have to use a book light. I’ve owned two different clip-on lights, but they make my book heavier and they’re annoying to move around. This neck light has been a game-changer since it allows me to direct the light where I need it most and adjust the color and brightness. Plus, I have zero hand fatigue by the end of the night.” - Daniela Galvez, Senior Editor
$1,400 $950 at Amazon “With a messy toddler at home and a cat I found out I was allergic to earlier this year, I really wanted to make cleaning our floors a daily habit. The Roborock Qrevo is an absolute game-changer. Not only can I set a schedule for it to run in the evenings when we’re relaxing on the couch, but it also mops our floors as it vacuums, cleaning up any sticky messes my toddler may have created. Plus, it washes itself and empties its dustbin into the dock. I only need to add water about once per week.” - Laura Miller, Editorial Director
$89 $67 at Amazon “I love a thick, fluffy bath towel, and in my experience, none quite deliver like Brooklinen’s. They are truly incredibly plush, and they’re just the right absorbency for soaking up all that post-shower water. I’m replacing all of my towels with these while they’re on sale.” - Heather Adams, Senior Editor
$117 $79 at Amazon “I bought these pillows for me and my husband last year, and they are the perfect combination of fluff and support. I love that they’re layered so you can make them a bit thinner if you’d like. Since becoming a parent, I’ve realized how essential it is to invest in a quality sleep situation, and these pillows have been worth every penny.” - Marisa Viglione, Senior Editor
$230 $160 at Amazon “I love organizing my pantry, and this 20-piece container set from Oxo lets me display my food while keeping it fresh. I even put one bin in my laundry room to use for detergent pods. The containers couldn’t be easier to open and they’ll make your pantry (or wherever else) look 10 times better than it did before.” - Camryn Dilger, Associate Editor
$30 $22 at Amazon “I’m a huge fan of Lodge because of its high-quality and consistent products that are reasonably priced. My husband and I use this grill press to make paninis or smash burgers—it has such a great weight to it and makes perfect sandwiches and burgers every time.” - Brandi Fuller, Editor
