BeautySkincare ProductsBeauty Awards 2024: Meet the New Beauty Innovations to Upgrade Your Routine This WinterWe gathered and vetted 2,238 products — and only 28 elite beauty editor-tested items made the final cut!
By Nicole Saunders
With New Year’s resolutions in full swing, there’s often a renewed interest in self-care after indulging in holiday revelry. Although we have the best intentions of seeing them through, having to bundle up in the frigid winter temperatures in order to hit the gym, hair salon, and spa makes these “New Year, New You” goals much less attainable.
With that in mind, as Best Products’s beauty editor, I spent the past year testing and reviewing hundreds of new products to select this year’s best skincare, haircare, makeup, and fragrance innovations for our inaugural Best New Beauty Awards. These new releases all deliver professional-grade results from the comfort of your home without the insane price tag of salon treatments. The budget-friendly gifts is especially practical because you can use your long-term savings toward other expenses, like gym membership, grocery shopping, and home decor.
Leveling up your 2024 beauty routine with these Best New Beauty Award winners will give you short- and long-term results before major summer events like weddings and graduations. These launches positively improve common concerns such as acne, dullness, and uneven skin tone. After using some of these carefully curated products, my dry scalp has disappeared, my hair is now healthier and longer, and I smell phenomenal.
After 12 months of rigorous testing, I can say every single recipient of the Best Products New Beauty Awards deserves a spot in your beauty routine. I love them so much that I gifted some to family and friends looking to achieve their beauty goals, like healthier gums and whiter teeth, flawless skin, and frizz-free hair. Keep scrolling to meet the winter beauty essentials you’ll love to use even when the weather warms up in the far too-distant spring and summer seasons.

The awards process was incredibly hands-on to ensure the final winners lived up to their promises and were worthy of your hard-earned money. Hundreds of brands submitted thousands of new beauty products for consideration across reader-favorite categories, like hair tools, perfumes, and beauty accessories. Because I’m naturally curious and frankly a skeptic of outlandish marketing claims, I got my hands on an overwhelming amount of newness to begin my hands-on testing process.
Since hundreds of thousands of beauty products are on the market, I wanted to simplify and spotlight only the latest innovations to keep things fresh and exciting — everything featured needed to launch in 2023. All submissions were tested in the 2023 calendar year.
Since I’ve been our beauty editor for over two years, I used my insight into reader interests, including hair tools and functional cosmetics, to whittle down the list of contenders. I focused my effort on topics readers come to us for, including science-backed skincare products, oral hygiene, and wellness. I also used this background to test dozens of products across reader-favorite categories, including red light therapy devices, sunscreen, and body scrubs, to name a few.
While I love meaningful shade extensions, it’s just not enough for me to dub something a holy grail new beauty essential perfect for winter and beyond. Instead, I looked for innovative beauty items, such as makeup with skincare benefits and face and body products infused with gentle yet effective active ingredients to soothe and moisturize parched winter skin. Every single award winner on our list proved they genuinely delivered on their promises.
What’s the point of wasting your hard-earned money if products aren’t comfortable and easy to use? Our list of award winners includes excellent at-home alternatives to pricey professional treatments. Many are intuitive to use and have relatively low commitment, making them perfect for lazy winter weekends indoors or after work when time is tight.
Everything from luxe to drugstore-level products — ranging from face washes and serums to hair masks — were carefully evaluated throughout the testing process. This means that there are options for a range of budgets, say if you’re ordering self-care gifts for yourself and your loved ones, without exceeding your desired dollar amount.
Sure, functionality is essential, but minor points went to new beauty products that looked good. After all, we live in a social media era, and everyone wants products that look sleek and can be proudly displayed on their vanities — at least for artfully taken Instagram pictures or TikToks from budding social media influencers.
I was able to secure these new beauty products as early as months ahead of their launch dates to leave significant time for testing. If they passed the first impression test, I slowly started incorporating new beauty products into my routine for at least a few weeks. Many products were cut during this round, but over several months, the final list of 28 beauty award winners slowly began to replace my former ride-or-die products. These unique beauty innovations helped bolster my at-home beauty routine and significantly improved my hair, skin, and wellness goals. Others, such as fragrances and an LED-lighted makeup mirror, sparked joy and proved to be winning gift ideas.
I can fully put my money behind every single award-winning pick and have purchased many of them for both myself and my loved ones. Trust me — if I can’t fully stand behind a product, it’s not highlighted here. We all deserve easy, relatively low-commitment products that enhance our beauty goals and self-esteem. And these are my universally flattering picks that accommodate all skin types, hair types, and ages.
Before diving into the winning 28 new beauty products, it’s only fair that you get to know me better to understand why you should fully trust my unbiased recommendations.
I’ve been the Best Products beauty editor for the past two years, and before that, I was the first-ever associate commerce editor at NBC News, focusing on beauty and wellness. I cut my teeth testing beauty products and interviewing industry experts for CNN, Harper’s BAZAAR, Cosmopolitan, Women’s Health, and Well + Good. I also spent four years writing about the intersection of beauty, fashion, and pop culture for Billboard and The Hollywood Reporter.
I write a quarterly column spotlighting new beauty products — Spring, Summer, and Fall — covering categories including perfume, makeup, skincare, and tools. My coverage culminates in this Best New Beauty Awards package.
Our sample closet houses thousands of beauty products that have been tested in consideration for our inaugural beauty awards package. These items, which range from well-established industry icons to emerging indie brands, are also up for consideration across our regular beauty content you know and trust. My passion for hands-on product testing sparked far before I studied journalism in college. I’ve always been an avid consumer of beauty products and media, so I know what it’s like to save hard-earned money to invest in products touted as the next big thing splashed across the pages of our favorite magazines. But time and time again, I would save up and order said products, only to be disappointed that they didn’t deliver on their promises. With that experience, I tested hundreds of new beauty products over the past year to deliver only the most elite picks worth bringing into 2024.

Best Shampoo
Innersense Clarity Shampoo $28 at Amazon$28 at credobeauty.com$28 at innersensebeauty.comDuring the winter season, dry scalp becomes commonplace, even if it's nothing you normally deal with. My scalp looks like a before image of a flake-free campaign during frigid New York winters, so using a gentle yet effective shampoo that doesn't strip away my natural oils is a must.
Innersense Clarity Shampoo is the only clarifying shampoo I've ever used that actually moisturizes my dry hair instead of depleting my natural oils. It does an excellent job at purifying my scalp by removing flakes and product build-up.
The hypoallergenic and fragrance-free formulation contains comfrey leaf and Japanese Swertia that calmed my visibly red scalp inflammation wash after wash. It's also the perfect gift for someone who enjoys at-home workouts or uses a ton of styling products that leave behind gunk.
Best Conditioner
Innersense Clarity Conditioner $30 at Amazon$30 at credobeauty.com$30 at innersensebeauty.comI've tried dozens of hair conditioners, but the new Innersense Clarity Conditioner instantly blew me away. It has a lotion-like texture that feels like a creamy dream massaged onto my scalp and down my hair.
It only takes 5 minutes for colloidal oatmeal, a derm-loved ingredient that calms a sensitive scalp, and a blend of moisturizing manuka honey and organic apricot kernel oil to lock in hydration and boost shine. My hair is always noticeably softer whenever I rinse away this conditioner — so much so that I can't stop running my hands through my hair before styling because it feels that good.
Like its coordinating shampoo, Clarity Conditioner is also hypoallergenic and fragrance-free, so it's safe for anyone to use regardless of their sensitive scalp and hair texture. Gift this to someone who knows their hair needs hydration without the weight.
Best Hair Mask
Salwa Petersen Chébiotic Hair Mask $22 at salwapetersen.comMeet the intensely hydrating deep conditioner that contains chébé, a seed from Chad chockfull of nutrient-rich components, like antioxidants, vitamins, and oleic acids. Apply about a dollop throughout each section of your hair — adjusting the quantity based on your hair length and thickness — and leave on for five minutes before rinsing.
My scalp is especially grateful that it has beta-sitosterol, an emollient that softens my curls, while anti-inflammatory properties soothe sensitive skin. I especially love that my hair retains length with prolonged use due to less breakage and shedding.
It's a giftable solution for someone who desires longer, stronger hair while giving back. Salwa Petersen pays workers five times the minimum Chadian wage and donates partial profits to African parks.
Chébiotic Hair Mask is so incredibly popular and well-loved by shoppers that it's currently sold out! Be sure to bookmark this page to check back when this must-have product is back in stock.
Best Heat Protectant
Color Wow Extra Strength Dream Coat$32 at Amazon$32 at sephora.com$32 at colorwowhair.comColor Wow's OG Dream Coat and Curly Dream Coat sprays are both incredible, but the brand's latest innovation — Extra Strength Dream Coat — raises the bar. Ideal for those with textured or thicker hair, it's a more hydrating, supercharged version that is like an invisible raincoat around our tresses.
The heat-activated spray protects against styling damage and adds major shine for a salon finish. And get this: it's also my favorite anti-frizz treatment that holds up against Florida humidity. Its formula is also incredibly light, and the smooth, silky results last up to four shampoos for minimal upkeep.
This is the ideal beauty gift for someone who can’t part ways with their trusty arsenal of hot tools and doesn’t want to risk heat damage.
Best Hair Serum
SEEN Skin & Hair Restore Scalp Serum$48 at Dermstore$48 at amazon.com$48 at helloseen.comKnow someone with a super sensitive scalp? I know the struggle all too well. Calming a red, inflamed scalp can be tricky, especially during the winter months. We want something that helps rebalance irritated skin without leaving behind a thick, greasy film. Enter SEEN Skin & Hair Restore Scalp Serum, which a Harvard-trained board-certified dermatologist created.
Considering the founder's credentials, it's safe to assume it's only made with the best and gentlest derm-loved ingredients, including soothing bisabolol, hydrating squalane, and sarcosine to rebalance the scalp microbiome.
This light milky-colored hair serum is non-comedogenic, meaning it won't clog pores that lead to scalp acne — yup, it's a real thing — or irritate eczema-prone skin. It's also color- and keratin-safe, so you won't have to worry about your perfect highlights fading quicker. It has successfully eliminated my winter dry scalp problems — and I look forward to applying it daily for a happy scalp.
Best Hair Styling Tool
Shark SpeedStyle$230 at Amazon$199 at sephora.com$200 at ulta.comAs much as I love my hairstylist, achieving salon results at home is incredibly gratifying. You can also get a salon blowout without the fuss by making a one-time investment in this just under-$200 hair dryer.
Unlike other brands that load you up with attachments you won't ever use, or those on the opposite end that only include a single concentrator, Speedstyle lets you decide which ones are best suited for your needs. (The featured HD331 model is ideal for straight and wavy hair, while the just-sold out HD332 is for curly and coily tresses like mine).
Regardless of which version you opt for, they both dry the hair quickly despite temperatures maxing out at 230 degrees Fahrenheit. The lightweight hairdryer — 1.69 pounds — also releases negative ions to help seal in shine and moisture while minimizing my frizz- and static-prone hair. This hot tool is the ideal gift for someone who doesn't have the capacity or the budget for pricey salon blowouts.
Best New Face Products
Best Face Exfoliant
Embryolisse Exfoliating Milk Powder$30 at Amazon$30 at us.embryolisse.comDry, dull, and flakey skin is the norm during the winter — and exfoliating with this gentle face scrub helps me smooth and brighten my complexion while leaving my skin invigorated.
It's a unique powder formula that very lightly foams when the solution comes into contact with water. I love that it's made from 99% natural ingredients, including three coconut extracts to soften my face by removing dead skin cells. After rinsing with water, my complexion is visibly smoother and feels incredibly soft.
Given its formulation, I'm confident in recommending this exfoliant as the perfect gift for someone who loves to travel because they won't have to worry about a sticky liquid ruining the interior of their toiletry bag.
Best Eye Cream
Revision Skincare C+ Brightening Eye Complex$118 at Amazon$118 at dermstore.com$118 at revisionskincare.comOur eyes are the first part of our face to show signs of aging. Thankfully, this eye cream brightens dark under-eye circles and targets visible signs of aging in the super delicate eye area.
The secret powerhouse ingredient is a proprietary MelaC+ Technology, a potent and stable form of vitamin C. This derm-loved ingredient brightens the dark undereye area.
The cooling wand applicator doesn't hurt, either. I like to leave my tube in the fridge for the most refreshing sensation. The lightweight eye cream also contains light-diffusing minerals to help brighten my dark circles sans color corrector.
Everyone can benefit from this beauty gift, but studious collegiates recovering from finals and those with mature skin looking to turn back the clock will be especially grateful for this present.
Best Face Serum
Alastin Skincare C-RADICAL Defense Antioxidant Serum$196 at alastin.comAlastin is one of the most underrated skincare brands available because it's only available to shop via the brand's direct website and at select doctor offices. I've tried many wonderful products from the line, and their new face serum is nothing short of epic!
Combining brightening vitamin C and 14 other antioxidants helps protect the skin from free radical damage caused by blue light from our tech and pollution. Its non-irritating formula absorbs fast, and my face cream and makeup don't pill after application, which is always a welcome win.
And get this: a board-certified dermatologist previously explained that pairing a vitamin C serum with a sunscreen with at least SPF 30 can help boost missing protection while treating existing and preventing future damage. If you know someone who loves wearing SPF daily — or could use the extra help to correct photodamage, this is the perfect gift for their skincare needs.
Best Face Moisturizer
Charlotte Tilbury Magic Water Cream$100 at Sephora$100 at charlottetilbury.comDevotees of Charlotte Tilbury's iconic Magic Cream know it's an incredibly hydrating face moisturizer perfect for winter. Those with oily, combination, and acne-prone skin like myself can confidently enjoy much-needed hydration this winter by using Tilbury's new Magic Water Cream without looking shiny.
Not only does the lightweight gel cream have a beautiful whipped consistency that absorbs quickly, but after a month of daily use, my face was smoother and brighter. Regardless of your skin type, Tilbury's new face cream will retain moisture for up to 100 hours, which is much needed while our radiators are cranked up.
Magic Water Cream is also the only refillable award winner on this list. Each full-sized, 1.7 oz. replacement is $90 versus buying a new container after each jar runs out.
Best Face Sunscreen
Dr. Dennis Gross Skincare All-Physical Ultimate Defense Broad Spectrum Sunscreen SPF 50$42 at Sephora$42 at amazon.com$42 at dermstore.comDid you know it's imperative to wear sunscreen even during the dreary winter? The sun's ultraviolet (UV) rays can still penetrate through clouds and accelerate burning and signs of aging, like sunspots and wrinkles. And get this: Even if you're sitting indoors near a window, your skin is exposed to UV rays.
This dermatologist-created face sunscreen is an underrated winter staple that will easily transition into the other seasons when we're outside more frequently. Gross created a water- and sweat-resistant broad-spectrum mineral sunscreen that lasts up to 80 minutes before reapplication is necessary.
I love the incredibly lightweight feel and that it blends easily with my fingers, leaving a soft, dewy finish behind. Including hyaluronic acid is especially welcome during the winter because it's a moisture magnet. Tranexamic acid also minimizes dark spots and prevents new ones from popping up.
Best Beauty Tool
Therabody Theraface Mask$599 at Best Buy$599 at therabody.comTherabody's LED face mask looks intimidating but is easy to use and incredibly effective. Theramask is an FDA-cleared skincare tool that emits red light-emitting diodes (LED) to boost collagen production and aid with signs of aging.
There are also settings for using a combination of red and infrared light to improve dull, uneven skin tones or blue light to kill acne-causing bacteria. I find this delightful combination of lights is beneficial for smoothing fine lines, boosting skin elasticity, and brightening an uneven complexion.
While I've tested almost every LED light therapy device you can think of, this is the only face mask I've found that also provides a unique massaging vibration therapy for instant stress relief around the brows, eyes, and scalp.
Gift this to the beauty wiz who is short on time — there are 3-minute and 9-minute treatments — but wants positive skin improvements with zero downtime.
Best New Body Care Products
Best Body Wash
Youth To The People Superfood + Niacinamide Body Cleanser$39 at Sephora$39 at youthtothepeople.comWe all have to shower daily, so we might as well make it an indulgent experience that benefits our dry winter skin. This body gel is jam-packed with superhero skincare ingredients, most notably niacinamide and sodium PCA, to help boost hydration and rebalance the skin's moisture barrier.
Youth to the People’s new release is super gentle on dry skin, relying on plant-based ingredients such as kale and green tea extracts, which are lauded for their antioxidant properties. There are even amino and fatty acids to provide a luxurious lather.
I love that it boasts a mild, aromatic scent with notes of fresh greens, black pepper, and cedarwood. More importantly, I love that regular use makes my skin smoother and more moisturized before I even apply a body cream. Thanks to this body cleanser, my shower vibes are permanently elevated, and my skin is grateful.
Best Body Scrub
Fig.1 Beauty Exfoliating Body Polish$24 at fig-1.coShower time is the perfect escape to clear your mind and focus on yourself. Skip the rough, large granules that can cause microtears in the skin and instead opt for this dermatologist-created body exfoliant that uses ultra-fine volcanic pumice to resurface dry skin gently.
I particularly love that this body scrub is made with glycerin because it's a humectant, meaning it pulls water to the skin for additional hydration. This powerful combination of ingredients nourishes and softens my skin. At the same time, the mandarin, sandalwood, and eucalyptus aroma create an uplifting at-home spa experience whenever I incorporate this scrub into my shower routine.
Body scrubs are super important during the winter, but they're also practical to use before removing unwanted body hair and two or three days after waxing to avoid bumps and ingrown hairs. So gift this spa-worthy exfoliant to someone who lives somewhere with brutal winters or regularly maintains their shaving or waxing routine, such as your favorite student-athlete.
Best Body Cream
Nécessaire The Body Cream $48 at Sephora$48 at necessaire.comAlthough this is *the* product most people want to snag from our beauty closet, I refuse to ever part with it from my grasp. The thick cream provides instant hydration, so ashy legs are a thing of the past.
While we're lucky if a body moisturizer contains one type of ceremide, Nécessaire contains five impressive types of ceramides to strengthen the skin's protective moisture barrier. Plus, there's niacinamide, glycerin, and linoleic acid, a superstar trifecta of moisturizing superhero ingredients.
I deal with eczema during the winter, and this gentle Nécessaire body cream helps prevent frequent flare-ups. Those who love perfumes won't have to worry about the body cream competing with their signature scent. It's a fragrance-free formula that lets your perfume of choice shine through. However, it's equally perfect for someone with a sensitive nose.
Best Body and Face Sunscreen
Coppertone Every Tone SPF 50Now 25% Off$7 at Amazon$11 at target.com$13 at cvs.comSadly, none of us can avoid the risk of developing skin cancer, which is exactly why sunscreen is a non-negotiable skincare product, no matter how much your melanin is popping. While many brands have created SPFs they claim won't leave behind an ashy or purple cast on the skin, I know from first-hand experience that simply isn't true.
When I applied Coppertone's new Every Tone SPF 50, I was shocked that it blended into my skin without a dreaded white cast. I was so impressed that I immediately recruited a few staffers with deeper complexions and eagerly asked them to apply this sunscreen to their arm. It squeezes out white but rubs in clear on their melanin-rich complexions! I consider this inclusive sunscreen a true triumph in the beauty world.
The broad-spectrum coverage also protects us from burns and aging, but I especially love the addition of nourishing and anti-inflammatory vitamin E. You can also apply this sunscreen to the face if you want a 2-in-1 budget sunscreen.
Best Lip Moisturizer
La Roche-Posay Cicaplast B5 Lip Balm$10 at Amazon$10 at ulta.com$10 at laroche-posay.usChapped lips are all too familiar during the winter — and the brand-new La Roche-Posay Cicaplast Lip Balm helps heal sensitive, extra dry lips. I found that after a few wears, I only needed to swipe on this lip balm once a day for long-lasting moisture.
Despite the thicker consistency, it melts like butter into my lips, and the inclusion of skincare-quality ingredients is just a welcome bonus. For example, vitamin B-5, sometimes called panthenol, moisturizes and smoothes, while shea butter soothes chapped lips. It's even infused with La Roche-Posay's signature prebiotic thermal water from the French town of La Roche-Posay.
Considering the under-$10 price tag, you can order multiples and gift one to yourself and your favorite matte lipstick lover who could use extra hydration under their signature pout. I love wearing it on its own or on top of drying matte lipsticks for an extra boost of hydration.
Best Face Primer
bareMinerals PRIME TIME Primer$31 at Ulta Beauty$28 at sephora.comThese face primers from Bare Minerals are the easiest way to ensure your makeup lasts, with different versions that target unique skincare concerns. For example, the Redness Reducing Primer relies on sheer green mineral pigments to color-correct redness from acne. Dealing with large pores? Same! The Original Pore-Minimizing version is ideal for us, while those with dry skin will benefit the most from the Hydrate & Glow Primer.
If you're dealing with multiple skin concerns, you can spot-treat different zones of your face. For example, someone with combination skin can apply the Pore-Miimizing version to their T-Zone while the Hydrate & Glow primer is on their dry cheeks.
Makeup lovers will appreciate this beauty gift because it layers beautifully under foundation. However, on no-makeup makeup days, when someone wants to look like the best version of themself with minimal effort — hi, work video calls — they can just apply one of the primers for a naturally enhanced vibe.
Best Skin Perfector
Danessa Myricks Beauty Yummy Skin Serum Skin Tint$36 at Sephora$36 at danessamyricksbeauty.comMakeup artist Danessa Myricks is a wiz at creating long-lasting beauty products that work with your skin, not against it. Yummy Skin Serum Skin Tint is an innovative, buildable base available in 16 shades. I love that it nourishes, smoothes, and hydrates with derm-loved ingredients, like ceramides, cactus extract, vegan squalane, vegan collagen peptides, and sodium hyaluronate.
Yummy Skin Serum Skin even contains sheer pigments to camouflage redness and uneven complexion without needing extra steps — color corrector and concealer — or heavy full-coverage foundation. Although I have oily skin, it holds up beautifully during summer concerts, and in the cold months, I find my skin is less dry when I apply Yummy Skin.
This is a fantastic gift for someone who still wants their natural beauty to shine through and those who want to forget they're even wearing face makeup.
Best Setting Powder
LAWLESS Forget The Filler Talc-Free Perfecting Powder$39 at Sephora$39 at lawlessbeauty.comSet it and forget it with this ultra-fine smoothing pressed powder that looks like your skin but better. Unlike most face powders, this Lawless version doesn't settle into my pores or fine lines. As its name implies, Perfecting Powder uses a silky pigment with a soft-focus effect that helps blur skin imperfections.
It's easy to achieve an airbrushed look IRL by using the included hidden makeup sponge or your favorite powder brush. I love that I can confidently wear this powder on its own or layered over a full face of makeup without coverage being obvious.
In the summertime, it kept me relatively matte after concerts, and during colder months, I noticed it performs equally as well. I appreciate that it doesn’t pill, which is more common for me in the winter when my skin becomes drier and flakier.
I'm also genuinely impressed that it's made with some of my favorite skincare ingredients, including kaolin clay, which soaks up excess oil like a dream. Gift this ultra-fine pressed powder to someone new to makeup or someone who prefers a soft-matte finish instead of a dewy complexion.
Best Nail Kit
Glamnetic Velvet Crush Kit in Fairy Dust$20 at Amazon$20 at glamnetic.comNo matter how much we love the look of freshly manicured nails, leaving our cozy bed during winter weather can be a real #firstworldproblem. Plus, the time commitment of spending what feels like hours in a salon chair is just not fun or something I look forward to.
Luckily for us, Glamnetic delivered an effortless and budget-friendly way to enjoy the look of a professional mani with their new Velvet Crush collection. These press-on nails are ideal for the commitment-phobe who wants the look of trendy velvet nails at their convenience.
They’re available in two shapes — short almond and short oval — and many stunning color combinations, such as attention-grabbing Berry Fizz and Electric. For someone who prefers more demure nails like myself, Honey Bun and Fairy Dust are wearable nude and pink hues.
Best Deodorant
hello products All Over Sweet Coconut Deodorant CreamNow 17% Off$12 at Amazon$14 at walmart.comDeodorant isn't the most exciting beauty product in the game, but it's a universal necessity to ensure we smell and feel fresh until our next shower. The hello sweet coconut all over deo cream made me a true believer in natural deodorants, keeping odor and moisture under control while gliding on clear.
Unlike stick deodorants limited to your underarm area, all-over deo cream can be applied externally on your body, which could use extra care. It's an excellent beauty gift for student-athletes and those who train hard like them.
On rare occasions when I squeeze the tube too hard, the creamy lotion-like product still absorbs quickly and blends in the clear, so I won't have to worry about embarrassing white marks on my clothing.
Best Toothpaste
Colgate Total Plaque Pro-ReleaseNow 25% Off$6 at Amazon$8 at walmart.com$8 at shop.colgate.comBy now, you know that plaque causes oral health problems, and this anti-plaque toothpaste provides 24 hours of antibacterial protection to ensure our gumlines are healthy. The smooth and creamy toothpaste also helps eliminate tarter buildup on our teeth and bad breath, so we can remain confident that our breath is minty fresh without the need to chew gum.
There are two versions of the toothpaste, one for whitening and the other called Fresh Mint. I prefer the latter because I have naturally bone-white teeth and love the refreshing, minty blast of flavor after brushing. Regardless of which version I tested, the SmartFoam Technology helped prevent plaque buildup, resulting in more impressive at-home brushing between professional dental teeth cleanings.
Best Toothbrush
Waterpik Sensonic Electric Toothbrush$90 at Amazon$100 at store.waterpik.comScoring an electric toothbrush for under $100 is impressive, especially when it's from an ADA-approved brand like Waterpik. The Sensonic is an intelligent rechargeable toothbrush delivering much better benefits than a manual brush.
Whenever I incorporate this toothbrush into my routine, I find my teeth and gums feel noticeably cleaner and fresher. The soft bristles contour my teeth and make it easier to clean hard-to-reach spots like my molars. The sonic technology that blasts plaque away doesn't hurt, either.
There are three modes to choose from: Clean for daily use; Stain Removal to target surface stains from coffee, tea, and red wine; and Gum Care for preventing periodontal concerns. Regardless of which one someone opts for, there's a two-minute timer with four 30-second alerts to ensure each zone is brushed correctly.
Best Hand Sanitizer
Touchland BLACKPINK x TOUCHLAND Power Mist Blue Sandalwood$10 at touchland.com$10 at ulta.comThe recent icy temperatures have ushered in cold and flu season, so keep yourself and your loved ones safe from germs with a non-sticky hand sanitizer.
Touchland teamed up with K-Pop girl group BLACKPINK to launch their new gift idea: hand sanitizer. Unlike other options, Touchland hand sanitizers actually hydrate the hands instead of stripping them of moisture. (We can thank aloe vera and radish root ferment for this welcome blast of hydration).
I appreciate that the pink bottle emits a refined micro-mist of blue sanitizer solution — which smells like calming sandalwood, cedarwood, fresh lemons, and crisp red apple — and is infused with 70% ethyl alcohol to eliminate 99.99% of common germs.
Best Home Fragrance
Homecourt Balsam Candle$65 at homecourt.coOur readers can't get enough of home fragrances, which is excellent news because I am our resident candle fiend and have very strong opinions about scents. And since we're all cozied up indoors for now, we can easily elevate our spaces with this Homecourt by Courteney Cox candle.
It's made from a non-toxic soy wax blend with an organic cotton wick for the cleanest burn. Her candle comes in a gorgeous green clay container that can be upcycled to store makeup brushes or filled with little treats proudly displayed on your desk or shelf.
Balsam smells like a luxurious wood cabin — evergreen woods, juniper berry, and caram — oh, my! — salted amber, eucalyptus oil, and Indian papyrus add a much-needed cozy touch.
Best Perfume
Krigler Mediterranean Peach 15 (50 mL)$455 at krigler.comI tried a ridiculous amount of fragrances out, but time and time again, I kept returning to this particular scent from Krigler. MEDITERRANEAN PEACH 15 is the ultimate fruity-floral perfume that smells like a bougie vacation by the water, so if your giftee is wintering somewhere tropical (or at least dreaming of it), let this be your perfume gift of choice.
The unique scent started as a bespoke creation for a private client. Thankfully, an updated version is now available to shop in limited quantities since the perfume aging process is lengthy. Succulent peach is the star ingredient, but the brightness and freshness of lemon, honey, bergamot, sandalwood, and fern add an unexpected twist.
Although a 50 mL bottle retails for a steep $455, don't let the price turn you off. I only need a spritz or two of this fragrance for my body to smell enticing from dawn til dusk with zero touchups — meaning the investment you make will be worth it, given how long it will last you. And Krigler sells 2 ml. bottles for $35 if you want a travel-friendly treat.
Best Beauty Accessory
Riki Loves Riki The RIKI CLASSY Now 20% Off$360 at rikilovesriki.comOur readers can't get enough of lighted makeup vanity mirrors, making the new Riki Classy the perfect beauty gift for yourself or a loved one. Most lighted makeup mirrors overheat, but I've left this one on for over an hour, and it remained cool. Stunning looks aside, the Classy is incredibly functional because it has dramatically improved my at-home beauty routine.
The mountable mirror features an adjustable temperature range that allows me to use warm-toned, cool-toned, or both LED lights simultaneously, depending on what's most flattering for the time of day. This feature has seriously leveled up my beauty game by helping me to flawlessly color-match new foundations I'm testing or adjust the intensity of my blush.
Riki's Bluetooth-equipped mirror includes a remote control and magnetic phone attachment that easily holds my iPhone 13+ Max for the easiest selfies and TikTok recordings ever. It's also dual voltage, so if you know someone who lives abroad and needs a mirror, they can use this tool without buying a converter.
