1.Higher Yield Due to Better Shading Response
Half Cell Module comprises two separated and identical solalr cell arrays, which means the ordinary strings of cells are cut into halves, and these shorter strings compose which has separated current paths. When a module is shaded, only one side shaded array's current will be impacted, while the other array will still be functionally producing power. Under this circumstance, when a module is shaded, the affected working areas of Blade will be 50% less.
By cutting solar cell into halves, the internal power loss will be lower and hot spot effect will also be reduced.
How Do They Work?
If you cut a solar cell in half it will produce half as much current and one fourth as much resistance. But you'll have twice as many of them so, if they are wired up to operate like a standard solar panel, you will have the same current but with half the resistance. This lower resistance reduces electrical losses and improves panel efficiency.
But it's not that simple because there will also be twice as many connections that will have their own resistance as well. All up, the decreased electrical losses can increase the output of a panel by up to 3% over what it would be with full size cells. That's enough to bump a panel from 18% efficiency to 18.5%. In terms of panel wattage, it will increase a 300 watt panel to 309 watts.

In a solar panel, resistive power losses occur when electrical current transports through the cell interconnections. By cutting solar cells in half, the current is halved. The reduction current leads to lower resistive losses. This improvement in performance can increase the output of a panel by up to 2.5% over what it would be with full-size cells, which could be a good 9~10W per panel.
