1&period;What is a solar charge controller&quest;

Solar Charge Controller &lpar;or Regulator&rpar; is a device which protects the batteries in a solar electric system from being overcharged or being over-discharged&period; It is need in virtually all solar power systems that utilize batteries&period;

 

2&period;What is PWM charging mode&quest;

PWM charging mode is used to automatically converted duty ratio of pulse current to charge the battery&comma; so pulsecharging can make battery more secure and fast full of electricity&comma; 

the battery disconnect period produced by the chemical reaction of oxygen and hydrogen in the time to re-combination and absorbed&comma; so that concentration polarization and ohmic polarization naturally be eliminated&comma; thereby reducing the internal pressure of the battery&comma; so that the batterycan absorb more energy&period;

 

3&period;Solar charge controller order of wiring

Step 1&colon; Connect the battery&comma; installation fuse&comma; pay attention to safety device from the battery is extreme maximum distance of 150mm&comma; after wiring is correctly then connected to the fuse&semi; Step 2&colon; Connect the load&semi; Step 3&colon; Connect thephotovoltaic array&period;

  

4&period;What is float charge&quest;

   When boost charging is completed&comma; the controller is transferred to the float control stage&period; When the battery is fully charged&comma; no longer have more electrochemical reaction&comma; all of the charging current is converted to heat and precipitationgases&period; When entering into the float charge stage&comma; floating stage with smaller voltage and current for charging the battery so that reducing the battery temperature and precipitation gas at the same time&comma; the float charging stage charging very weak&period; The purpose of float charging is to compensate for the battery self-discharge and small loads generated by the system power consumption&comma; while maintaining full battery storage of electricity&period; In the floating stage&comma; the load can continue to get power from the battery&period; If the system load exceeds the solar charging current&comma; the controller will no longerbe able to float the battery voltage is maintained at the set value&period;

  

5&period;What is boost charge&quest;

   When the battery is charged to a boosted voltage set value&comma; the controller continuously adjusting the charging current tothe battery voltage is maintained at the set point voltage of boost&period; This can prevent the battery overheating and generate gas&period; The battery is maintained in boost charging stage about 120 minutes&comma; and then goes to the

floating stage&period;

  

6&period;What is equalizing charge&quest;

   Some types of batteries on a regular basis due to an equalizing charge&comma; to stir the electrolyte&comma; balanced the battery voltage&comma; to complete the chemical reaction&period; Equalizing charge to improve the battery voltage&comma; which is higher than the standard supplying voltage&comma; so that the battery electrolyte gasification&period;

  

7&period;Why should the controller have temperature compensation function&quest;

As temperature rises&comma; electrochemical activity in the battery increases&period; Similarly&comma; as temperature falls&comma; electrochemical activity decreases&period; Therefore&comma; as temperature rises&comma; charging voltage should be reduced to prevent overcharge&comma; as temperature falls&comma; charging voltage should be increased to avoid undercharge&period; In general&comma; to assure optimum service life&comma; use of a temperature compensated charger is recommended&period;
