A battery ready system uses a hybrid inverter rather than a typical string solar inverter. Most modern hybrid inverter have the battery charger and connection built in which makes adding a battery much easier in the future. However hybrid inverters are more expensive and if you don’t add batteries during the installation finding compatible batteries after a few years could become difficult.
